Mediterranean-style Garden

Project summary

The client sought wanted to transform her garden to remind her of her childhood in Italy.

It was important to add both entertainging and secluded spaces to the flat site. An oil tank and large existing shed also needed to be incorporated into the design.

We created concept plans, hard-lanscaping plans and a full planting plan to bring the new garden to life.

  • The raised dining terrace across the centre of the design created a sunny entertaining space and added a range of new vantage points across the garden.

Key points

  • The low planting terraces invite a climb up through the mediterranean style planting and improve drainage on the otherwise heavy-soil. Reclaimed marine boards and Italian Cypresses add height to the planting design and tactfully conceal the oil tank.

  • A babbling water feature and intimate patio catch the sun at the southern end of the garden, shielded from the house by the planted terraces.
